Discussion about child marriage and about legal provision with Police officers at Mechinagar Municipality.

MJK recently conducted an awareness session at the Kakarvitta police station in collaboration with the Mechinagar police, focusing on the critical issue of child marriage. Both male and female participants engaged in discussions on the legal provisions and the severe impact of child marriage on girls’ education, health, and society. The police shared challenges they face, including a lack of community support and underreporting of cases, with some child marriages being misclassified as other crimes. Despite these challenges, the police committed to coordinating with MJK to address the issue. The session successfully raised awareness, provided legal information, and highlighted the need for trust and collaboration to combat child marriage effectively.
