Supported by: Mechinagar Municipality
Mahila Janachetana Kendra (MJK) successfully organized a 15-day Free Physiotherapy Health Camp at Mechinagar-6, Jhapa. Supported by Mechinagar Municipality, this initiative provided essential rehabilitation services to residents suffering from various physical ailments, ensuring that specialized healthcare is accessible to all members of the community, from children to the elderly.
Many individuals in rural and semi-urban areas lack access to professional physiotherapy due to financial constraints or the distance to specialized clinics. This camp was designed to address:
Neurological & Physical Conditions: Providing targeted sessions for patients with conditions such as Paralysis and Cerebral Palsy.
Geriatric & Pediatric Support: Offering specialized care for elderly citizens and children with developmental physical challenges.
Health Inequity: Bridging the gap in healthcare services by providing high-quality therapeutic sessions free of charge.
Specialized Care Delivery: Conducting professional physiotherapy sessions for a wide range of patients, led by a doctor and two support staff.
High-Volume Intervention: Delivering a total of 489 therapeutic sessions over the 15-day period (Baisakh 19 to Jestha 2).
Local Leadership Engagement: Collaborating with municipal leaders, including Deputy Mayor Meena Upreti and Mayor Gopal Chandra Budhathoki, to integrate community health into local governance priorities.
Community Awareness: Educating participants and their families on long-term physical health maintenance and recovery techniques.
