One-Day Organic Farming Training Conducted Under the Child Marriage Prevention Campaign

As part of the “Preventing and Responding to Child Marriage and Early Union” initiative, Mahila Janachetana Kendra organized a one-day training on organic bio-fertilizer for parents involved in agriculture. The training aimed to promote healthier farming practices and raise awareness about the health impact of chemical fertilizers on children and families.
The training sessions were held from Baisakh 15 to 17, 2082 (April 27–29, 2025) in various local levels of Jhapa District — including Mechinagar Municipality Wards 5, 6, 7, and 8, Kachankawal Rural Municipality Wards 1 and 5, and Bahradashi Rural Municipality Wards 1 and 7 — with a total of 147 parent participants.
Technical facilitation was provided by Mr. Pradeep Ghimire, CEO of High Himalayan Organic Pvt. Ltd., and Mr. Lokpriya Khanal, who shared their expertise on the benefits of organic farming and the adverse effects of chemical-based agriculture.
Each participant was provided with a package including one sack of powdered bio-fertilizer, 10 liters of leaf-based liquid fertilizer, and root application liquid fertilizer.
The event was graced by the presence of various local representatives including mayors, deputy mayors, and ward chairpersons as special guests. The program was chaired by the President of Mahila Janachetana Kendra.
Through this training, the organization aims to encourage organic farming practices among parents, contributing to both sustainable agriculture and the improved health and wellbeing of their children.
