Under the initiative led by Mahila Janachetana Kendra to reduce child marriage, a one-day district-level facilitation and group discussion program was successfully organized at Siddhartha Hotel, Birtamod, Jhapa.
The program was graced by the Honorable Deputy Speaker of Koshi Province, Ms. Sirjana Danuwar, as the chief guest. Special guests included Ms. Mina Upreti, Deputy Mayor of Mechinagar Municipality; Mr. Gopal Kumar Adhikari, Chief District Officer of Jhapa; and Mr. Rajan Limbu, Chief of District Police Office, Jhapa. The event was emceed by Srishti Katuwal, a student of Dhulabari Secondary School.
Key facilitation and discussions were led by Mr. Suman Adhikari, Provincial Coordinator for Child Search and Rescue; Advocate Ms. Kabita Pathak, Member of the Nepal Bar Association Jhapa; and Police Inspector Mr. Prabin Shrestha.
A total of 41 adolescent boys and girls from all 14 local governments of Jhapa, along with the heads of women and children branches and school focal teachers, actively participated in the program.
